ANN ARBOR -- It's only been nine months and five games, but Shea Patterson has found an ally and mentor on the Michigan coaching staff.
And it's not necessarily who you think it might be.
Michigan's starting quarterback and assistant head coach and passing-game coordinator Pep Hamilton have forged a bond ever since Patterson arrived in Ann Arbor in January.
A transfer from the University of Mississippi, Patterson had plenty to soak in, a team to adapt to and entirely new offensive scheme to learn. He found a mentor in Hamilton.
"Coach Pep has been an awesome coach and role model toward me," Patterson said Monday night on the "Inside Michigan Football" radio show.
