The young quarterback stood next to Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh.
“Let’s go,” Harbaugh said to Brandon Peters, the redshirt freshman quarterback. “You are in.”
As Peters went onto the field for the first time, a roar spread through Michigan Stadium. You would have thought a rock star was in the building. The fans were screaming and cheering so loudly the U-M offensive lineman had to wave their arms, trying to quiet everybody down.
This is the moment everybody had been waiting for.
“It was time,” Harbaugh said, after Peters had a fantastic debut on Saturday afternoon, in a 35-14 victory over Rutgers.
