When Michigan holds its first football practice Friday, the Wolverines may not know exactly what awaits. But they’re pretty clear that coach Jim Harbaugh will be there with them.
Not just blowing the whistle and encouraging, like predecessor Brady Hoke and many of the players’ high school coaches.
He actually will be in there.
“What caught me off guard was, the first day (of spring), of course he came out with the traditional khakis and the long sleeves with the hat,” U-M linebacker James Ross said. “When we were on the field, I thought he was going to be just coaching, but I saw him with cleats on.
