ANN ARBOR, MI -- Jacob Cronenworth did his part on Friday to help Michigan past Purdue, 9-3 in the first of three games against the Boilermakers this weekend.
The junior knocked in three runs on as many hits, and struck out seven Purdue battles through 4.2 innings of work on the mound. He allowed two runs on six hits before being relieved by Mac Lozer, Keith Lehmann and Oliver Jaskie.
The relief trio allowed just one run on a long ball by Alec Olund. Lozer picked up the win, striking out the only batter he faced in the fifth inning.
