The Michigan coaching staff fell a man short this week with the announcement that defensive coordinator and linebackers coach D.J. Durkin has taken the head coaching job at Maryland. Durkin revealed in his introductory press conference in College Park on Thusrday that he will not coach the Wolverines in the bowl game. While Michigan has not assigned a replacement for his coordinating duties, Chris Partridge will step in as the team's linebacker coach for the bowl game.
Partridge has served as the director of player personnel in recruiting since his arrival in January, but previously was the head coach at Paramus Catholic, mentoring players such as Jabrill Peppers.
