NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- University of Michigan ice hockey program alums Carl Hagelin (2007-11) and Kevin Porter (2004-08) raised the Stanley Cup on Sunday night (June 11) for the second time in as many years after the Pittsburgh Penguins clinched the series with a 2-0 win over the Nashville Predators in game six of the Stanley Cup Final at Bridgestone Arena.
Last season, Hagelin and Porter became the ninth and 10th different Michigan hockey alumni to win the Stanley Cup as players.
Hagelin appeared in 15 playoff games and registered two goals including an empty-netter during game six to seal the Penguins' win.
