Michigan’s most consistent AAF alumni has been Orlando Apollos running back De’Veon Smith. The former Wolverine racked up a season-high 119 yards on just 14 carries in a 31-14 victory Saturday over the Birmingham Iron.
He churned out two highlight runs en route to his first 100-yard outing as a professional. In fact, it’s the first time Smith reached the century mark since accumulating 158 yards versus Indiana on Nov. 19, 2016.
The first big jaunt was vintage Smith. Pinned against his own goal line, he rumbled into the secondary for 17 yards.
