The Ohio State-Michigan football rivalry clocks track the last time the Buckeyes defeated the Wolverines, and vice versa. It is a cold-hearted contrivance meant to rub salt in the wound of the school on the wrong side of the W-L column.

Sadly, however, the tick-tock of sadistic schadenfreude is under threat of being short-lived. The Big Ten announced last week it would eliminate divisions in 2024 and that the conference championship game will be contested between the top two teams in the standings.
