Among the upperclassmen, last year's All-Big Ten preseason team was filled with the expected names.
Of course, Purdue's Caleb Swanigan was the expected Player of the Year. The preseason all-league team was filled out by the likes of Indiana's OG Anunoby and Thomas Bryant, Iowa's Peter Jok, Maryland's Melo Trimble, Wisconsin's Nigel Hayes and Bronson Koenig, and Malcolm Hill of Illinois, along others.
D.J. Wilson, meanwhile, was a forgotten man. The one-time top-150 recruit lost his first year at Michigan to an injury. Then he was maligned on the bench in his second season.
Entering 2016-17, Wilson wasn't even a starter at Michigan, let along a potential all-conference player.
