Numbers: Michigan's offense isn't perfect, except (almost) in the red zone

ANN ARBOR — The Michigan offense scratch and struggled for every inch it gained in Saturday's night's hold-your-breath win at Minnesota. Nothing came easy. The 296 yards of total offense were indicative of a long night.

And yet, the Wolverines won, 29-26.

That's what happens when you're productive when it counts.

Michigan made four trips into the red zone on Saturday, once in each quarter.

All four times, the Wolverines left with a touchdown. There was a 1-yard plunge into the end zone by Joe Kerridge in the first quarter, a 13-yard touchdown reception by Jehu Chesson from Jake Rudock in the second quarter, a 6-yard run by Jabrill Peppers in the third, and a 12-yard TD catch by Chesson from Wilton Speight in the fourth.
