NEW YORK – The magic vanished in Brooklyn.
After three final-minute wins in the previous week, No. 11 seed Michigan ran out of gas in the first round of the NCAA tournament, falling to No. 6 seed Notre Dame, 70-63, at Barclays Center.
Michigan led by 12 at halftime but wasn’t able to hold off the Irish charge.
And when it came to winning time, U-M was just short of another hero performance.
With the score 66-63, Zak Irvin missed a game-tying three with 15 seconds to play and Notre Dame finished with free throws.
