Michigan tailback De'Veon Smith is making progress from his injury.
A day after backup tailback Derrick Green said Smith was practicing following his ankle/foot injury against BYU, U-M offensive coordinator Tim Drevno confirmed it.
Asked whether Drevno expects Smith to play Saturday, he implied that he does.
"Yeah, that's (the) game. He's working through; he's doing a nice job right now," Drevno said today. "I really feel good about it."
Though Michigan has a four-running back rotation, Smith has started all four games this season, carrying 69 times compared with just 23 for Green, 20 for Ty Isaac and 11 for Drake Johnson.
