No. 9 Michigan hockey falters against No. 13 Ohio State in Frozen Confines

The anticipation was palpable as Michigan and Ohio State exited the Wrigley Field dugouts onto the snow-littered ice.

Hints of sunlight illuminated the north side of Chicago’s skyline which served as the backdrop for a game that was every hockey lover’s dream.

A ceremonial puck drop featuring Red Berenson. An epic national anthem. A hoard of Michigan fans representing their school.

Then the game started.

And what a game it was. The No. 9 Wolverines (11-7-1, 5-4 Big Ten) had their moments, but ultimately fell 4-3 to No. 13 Ohio State (14-4-1, 7-2) after taking two crucial penalties late in the third period.
