Fullbacks don’t usually get taken in the NFL draft anymore, so it was not surprising that Joe Kerridge, who played fullback in the Michigan football program that past few season, wasn’t drafted. Yet, he still has a good chance to make in the NFL after landing with Redskins.
Kerridge, who tweeted his signing shortly after the NFL draft concluded, will benefit from rookie free agency in large part, because he got to choose his landing spot and with the Redskins, he chose wisely.
Kerridge played 48 games for the Wolverines over the past four seasons and was a team captain in 2015.
