ANN ARBOR -- Ed Warinner earned himself a promotion earlier this month when he was named the Michigan football team's new offensive line coach.
Turns out, that also comes with a hefty raise.
Warinner signed a memorandum of understanding on March 1 that will pay him an annual salary of $525,000 in 2018 and $550,000 in 2019, obtained Thursday by MLive via a Freedom of Information Act request.
He's also eligible for a $25,000 retention bonus if he's still on staff on April 1, 2019.
According to terms of the agreement, which officially went into effect on March 8, Warriner will have to pay the University of Michigan $100,000 if he leaves for another assistant coaching job before the end of his deal.
