Scott Frost made his choice, and Tristan Gebbia made his, apparently.
As a result, Nebraska's football team is down to a pair of walk-ons backing up its starting quarterback, who doesn't have much experience either.
Adrian Martinez will be the Cornhuskers' QB when they open Saturday against Akron. Frost handed the true freshman the starting gig, a move that prompted Gebbia to leave school.
Gebbia redshirted as a freshman this season and instead of sticking around to see how things panned out in Frost's first season in Lincoln, he's headed elsewhere.
So that means Nebraska has one scholarship QB eligible on its roster in Martinez, who will be the first true freshman to start a Cornhuskers opener.
