Ann Arbor -- The low point, most definitely, came Dec. 8, in Dallas, where an SMU team with so little to play for -- its coach, Larry Brown, was suspended, and the team had recently learned it would be banned from postseason play -- dunked and dunked some more, all over a dazed-and-confused Michigan team.
All that, with the former president, George W. Bush, watching from courtside seats.
As Bush might say: It would have taken some "fuzzy math" to picture Michigan playing in the NCAA Tournament.
If ever a team looked like it wasn’t NCAA-worthy, it was Michigan on this day.
