NCAA baseball selection day: Once-promising Michigan needs a miracle

ANN ARBOR -- The NCAA Baseball Tournament selection show is at noon Monday, but Michigan isn't expected to hear its name called.

The Wolverines (33-21) projected to be one of the 64 teams in the tournament earlier this month, but they have lost seven of their past nine games, including two of their first three games in the Big Ten Tournament.

They were eliminated on Friday with a 5-3 loss Ohio State, which also is fighting for an at-large bid.

Before conference tournaments began last week, D1baseball.com projected Michigan as one of the first five teams left out of NCAA Tournament.
