Moritz Wagner sprained his left ankle and knee after working around a screen in Tuesday night’s 109-92 victory over the New York Knicks at Cox Pavilion.
Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson personally escorted him to the locker room, as team doctors taped his ankle and ruled him out later in the second quarter.
Lakers Summer League head coach Miles Simon said doctors will re-evaluate him today.
The injury literally sidelined another solid outing from Wagner. This year’s No. 25 draft pick accumulated seven points on five shots, two boards and two steals, all in just nine minutes of action.
