K Jake Moody: It’s always a good sign when the head coach goes out of his way to praise the kicker in his postgame news conference. Moody rewarded Jim Harbaugh’s show of faith by blasting a 52-yard field goal to open the scoring for Michigan midway through the first quarter. With a 10 mile-per-hour wind at his back, Moody’s career-long kick sailed high through the uprights and might have been good from 60 yards or more.
