ANN ARBOR -- Moritz Wagner isn't returning for his junior year at Michigan out of the goodness of his heart. His decision to stay in school was a matter of practicality. The 20-year-old said last week that it was "too risky" to remain in the NBA Draft because "the chances of me falling into the second round were too big."
He added: "I didn't feel secure enough."
Wagner is returning to U-M to get better.
The better Wagner is, of course, the better off Michigan will be. Thus, in all regards, the center's development carries major consequences for both his personal future and that of the Wolverines' 2017-18 season.
