Desmond Morgan
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Fifth-year senior linebacker Desmond Morgan of the University of Michigan football team has been named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell trophy, it was announced Thursday (Sept. 24). The award, which was established in 1959, recognizes an individual as the best football scholar-athlete in the nation. The award was the first initiative in history to honor scholar-athletes with postgraduate scholarships for their combined athletic, academic and leadership abilities. Morgan was a semifinalist for the NFF William V. Campbell Trophy last season as well.
Morgan, a native of Holland, Michigan, is a three-year letterman for the Wolverines and has appeared in 40 games at linebacker, making 34 starts.
