Moe Wagner selected in first round by Lakers

“We like his energy. We like his skillset, his intelligence. We like that he played for a really good coach,” said Lakers’ head coach Luke Walton. “We feel like he’s going to be able to come in right away and help our team.”

A native of Berlin, Germany, Wagner played three years at Michigan before departing early for the NBA. In his final season, he averaged 14.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, helping to lead the Wolverines to the final game of the NCAA Tournament.

Wagner finished his college career with 77 starts, ranking 44th all-time in Michigan scoring with 1,114 points.
