The Minnesota Vikings selected Michigan football safety Josh Metellus in the sixth round with the No. 205 overall pick of the 2020 NFL draft Saturday.
Metellus will walk into the pros after collecting five interceptions and 187 tackles during his career at Michigan.
The 5-foot-11, 209-pound safety was a key figure with the Wolverines, playing 840 snaps as a senior – the second-highest total among defensive players.
“I feel like me having that leadership role at Michigan will really transfer. teams, especially coaches, will trust me in the scheme and trust me being able to do things on the field for them,” he said in February.
