Ann Arbor — A little more than two weeks ago, after a dreadful three-game series at Maryland, Michigan baseball coach Erik Bakich said his team faced reality. The potential was there for mathematical elimination from even making the Big Ten tournament, which would mean the end of an up-and-down season.
The team was bludgeoned — Bakich’s word — by the Terps in that series, lowlighted by a 20-6 loss and an ERA of 21.38 that game.
