Mike Macdonald wants to clear up something that he believes is a “misconception.”
Michigan football's first-year defensive coordinator has heard the talk about how nuanced his defensive scheme — modeled after that of the Baltimore Ravens — might be.
But while the Wolverines may try to emulate certain aspects of Baltimore's unique, versatile defense, Macdonald doesn't think the defense will be overly complex.
“You look at the Ravens’ defense and what (defensive coordinator) Wink (Martindale) has been able to do and the rest of our staff the last few years, and you’re like, man, those guys are flying all over the place,” Macdonald said Thursday afternoon.
