Michigan entered the 2013 NCAA tournament with a 26-7 record and a No. 4 seed in the South Region. Three weeks later, the Wolverines were playing the Louisville Cardinals for the national title. In the championship game, freshman Spike Albrecht became a national sensation when he scored 17 points in the first half, carrying Michigan to a 33-21 lead with about four minutes remaining in the half.
