Michigan's Sierra Romero, Sara Driesenga drafted in pro fastpitch league

University of Michigan had two players drafted by the National Pro Fastpitch, including second baseman Sierra Romero with the second overall selection.

Pitcher Sara Driesenga, a fellow senior, was also picked in the draft, held Thursday at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee.

Romero became the highest drafted player from the Wolverines, dating back to 1998. She was selected by the USSSA Pride, based out of Kissimmee, Florida.

Driesenga was selected first in the fifth round with the No. 27 overall selection by the Scrap Yard Dawgs, based in Houston.

Both will have familiar faces.
