PISCATAWAY, N.J. — This is the Shea Patterson that Michigan football needs to get where it wants to go. And if you listen to Patterson’s teammates, this is the Patterson they’ve seen all along.

In practice, of course, where the transfer quarterback has imbued the Wolverines’ offensive attack with an improvisational talent the program hasn’t seen since … ever.
