When Shea Patterson made up his mind last December to take a chance at Michigan, he did so with plenty of faith and almost nothing promised.
He not only left Ole Miss without the promise of immediate eligibility (eventually gained months later), but he also left the type of spread offense he'd been exclusively associated with in college for a version of the pro-style that was — in many ways — going to be brand new.
