Michigan's offensive identity still a mystery, but that shouldn't shock

Identity is essential. Identity is difficult. Identity is a journey.

And for Michigan, at least in part, identity is lacking.

On one side of the football, U-M’s identity is clear. It’s ferocious. It’s relentless. Don Brown’s defense is adaptable, versatile and explosive.

Jim Harbaugh’s offense? We have no idea what this is yet.

“I think we're still finding our identity," junior running back Karan Higdon said Saturday after the 29-13 win over Air Force. "I think we're close. But I think we're still finding our identity. And that's part of growing.”

In some ways, this is fine.
