Moritz Wagner’s NBA Summer League debut had its highs and lows.
With 6:24 remaining in the first quarter, the former Michigan basketball star and first-round selection of the Los Angeles Lakers found himself in the paint, looking up as No. 2 overall pick Marvin Bagley III dunked over him.
Welcome to the league, rookie.
Wagner, though, recovered quite well from being posterized. In the Lakers’ 98-93 loss to the Sacramento Kings, Wagner scored a game-high 23 points, tying with teammate Josh Hart and Sacramento’s De’Aaron Fox.
Wagner didn’t shoot particularly well, going just 6-for-18 from the field and 2-for-9 from the 3-point line.
