ROSEMONT, Ill. — Michigan got the start it wanted, but not the finish.
Michigan jumped out to a 10-point lead early in the first half, but went into a shooting slump in the second half. Michigan went on to lose 61-52 to Northwestern at Allstate Arena on Tuesday. U-M is 2-4 on the road in the Big Ten.
U-M overcame a poor first half to beat Northwestern, 60-52, in Ann Arbor on Jan. 29.
In the rematch, it shot 25% in the second half (5 of 20), including 1 of 10 (10%) from three-point range.
The Wolverines had a scoreless stretch of more than 9 1/2 minutes before Charles Matthews hit a three-pointer with 2:46 left, cutting U-M's deficit to 54-49.
