Two Michigan football defenders have been named to the Butkus Award watch list.
Wolverines senior linebackers Khaleke Hudson and Josh Uche are among 51 players up for the award, given annually to college football's top linebacker.
Hudson, 6 feet and 220 pounds, enters his third season starting at viper. He had 44 total tackles with 3½ for loss, two sacks and two blocked punts last season, a significant drop-off from his outstanding 2017 year, when he compiled 83 tackles and eight sacks.
Uche, 6-2, 238, made 15 tackles, eight for loss, and had seven sacks last season as a pass-rushing option off the edge, his first year seeing consistent playing time.
