When John Beilein lost two assistants in the span of a week in April, he had a blank slate.
The Michigan basketball coach had a few weeks to sift through resumes and have conversations after losing LaVall Jordan (Wisconsin-Milwaukee) and Bacari Alexander (Detroit Mercy) to head coaching jobs and now is closing in on filling his staff.
"When I make my selections and all the (human resources) goes through, there will probably be a dual announcement," he said, at the Ufer Quarterback Club dinner at Barton Hills Country Club. "I think they play off each other.
