Due to expense reduction initiatives aimed at lowering the operating budget of Michigan's athletic budget, athletic director Warde Manuel, football coach Jim Harbaugh and men's basketball coach Juwan Howard will accept 10% salary reductions from Aug. 1 through the end of the fiscal year.
The reductions were announced Monday night shortly after Michigan's Board of Regents voted to approve the 2021 fiscal year budget, after the budget was initially voted down during last Thursday's meeting.
Manuel, Harbaugh and Howard are among the "senior-level administrators" and "many head coaches" who will accept the 10% pay-cut.
