ANN ARBOR -- The last time Michigan's Jack Becker played at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, he scored two goals to help Mahtomedi High School beat St. Cloud Apollo 4-3 in the third-place game in the state tournament.
The freshman forward hopes to have similar success when he returns to the home arena of the Minnesota Wild on Thursday for the Frozen Four. The Wolverines face No. 2 Notre Dame at 9:30 p.m., with the winner advancing to play either Ohio State or Minnesota-Duluth in Saturday's national championship.
"It's going to be fun there going back there and playing," said Becker, who grew up in nearby Dellwood, about 20 minutes from St.
