For the second time in this award season, Jabrill Peppers came out on top.
A day after finishing fifth in the Heisman Trophy balloting and attending the New York ceremony, Peppers was across the country at the Lott IMPACT Trophy banquet in Newport Beach, Calif., winning that award.
Given to the nation's top defensive player for his IMPACT (Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity), Peppers was announced Sunday night evening, edging USC's Adoree Jackson, Alabama's Jonathan Allen and Air Force's Weston Steelhammer.
The award, named for USC legend Ronnie Lott and sponsored by the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, will donate $25,000 to U-M's general scholarship fund in Peppers' name.
