Jim Harbaugh has compared Chase Winovich to an animal when trying to describe his play on the football field this season
Perhaps it was warranted.
The fifth-year senior defensive end was named to the Associated Press' midseason All-America team released on Tuesday, joining two other Michigan players to garner national recognition for their play in the 2018 season.
Winovich was Michigan's only first-team selection, joining Clemson's Clelin Ferrell at end -- one of three players from Big Ten teams to earn the honor.
In seven games this season, Winovich, of Jefferson Hills, Pa., has 39 tackles, including a team-high 10 1/2 for a loss, three sacks and four quarterback hurries.
