Once last season ended, Ben Gedeon understood there was no more waiting.
He was instantly the leader of the linebacking corps, taking over for departed seniors Joe Bolden, James Ross and Desmond Morgan.
Gedeon brings experience, having played in 37 games during his three-year career, including one start.
“Ben was overshadowed by the other three last year, given that they played so much,” said U-M’s linebackers coach Chris Partridge. “But he took his own. As soon as they were gone, he came in in the spring and he was the guy and everyone knows it. Everyone on the defense knows that he’s the leader there, the vocal guy.
