In Kim Barnes Arico's first five years as Michigan women's basketball head coach, the Wolverines made the NCAA tournament only once.
But U-M has since reached the second round of the tournament each of the last two seasons.
Now, the Wolverines want to take another step and establish themselves as serious postseason contenders.
"In women’s basketball, so much is predicated on your seed," Barnes Arico said Wednesday during the team's media day in Ann Arbor. "Getting that seed where you’re going to play the 1 or 2 in the first round on their home court is really tough.
