The Michigan women's basketball team will host Villanova in a WNIT semifinal at Crisler Center at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, it was announced Sunday afternoon.
Villanova (20-14) beat Indiana 69-57 in a tournament quarterfinal on Sunday to punch its ticket to the semifinals while Michigan (26-9) earned its bid among the final four teams with Saturday's 80-62 victory over Virginia Tech.
This marks Michigan's third straight trip to the WNIT semifinals and fourth in program history. The Wolverines have never advanced beyond the semifinals and lost to Florida Gulf Coast last year and UCLA in 2015.
With Saturday's win over Virginia Tech, Michigan extended its program record for victories in a season.
