ROME -- There's a customary method of operation at Trevi Fountain.
Travelers passing through Rome's Trevi district find their way to this massive fountain every day with two goals in mind.
One coin into the fountain, they say, ensures a return trip to The Eternal City. But three coins symbolizes a second tour and brings luck toward a lifelong romance and happy marriage. Two coins? Well, that's just not right.
Jim Harbaugh happened upon the fountain Monday morning during regularly-scheduled maintenance. City employees were busy vacuuming the coins from the fountain and cleaning the facility in general and guests were discouraged from tossing coins in.
