Ohio State had a lot of firsts on Wednesday. It was the first day of spring practice, it was the first spring practice with Ryan Day as head coach, it was the first practice for Greg Mattison as OSU's DC, and the first practice for new QB Justin Fields.
Here are a few some bullets that watched practice and attended the press conference:
- RB J.K. Dobbins was disappointed with his sophomore season, he is the starting RB now
- Day still plans to call plays during the season
- OSU will lose 3 starters off the offensive line from last year
- This was the first team OL on day 1: LT Josh Alabi, LG Gavin Cupp, C Josh Myers, RG Wyatt Davis, RT Branden Bowen
- Starting 3 CB's look to be: Jeffrey Okudah, Damon Arnette and Shaun Wade
- Day said, it will be an open competition this spring at QB between Justin Fields and Matthew Baldwin.
