Michigan still leads the pack in ESPN’s latest SP+ rankings

Michigan has secured its second consecutive 12-0 regular season after a big 30-24 win over Ohio State on Saturday. With the win, the Wolverines made their pitch to be considered the best team in the country, which they still are according to the latest edition of ESPN and Bill Connelly’s SP+ rankings.

For those of you who might be new to SP+, Connelly describes it as, “a tempo- and opponent-adjusted measure of college football efficiency.” This measure can be used as an alternative method of ranking college football teams by predicting how many points a given team would beat (or lose to) the “average” college football team by.
