The Michigan softball team didn’t get a chance to defend its Big Ten title this year, with the coronavirus pandemic shutting down all spring sports.
But starting next week, two alums will have a shot at a different title: G.O.A.T.
Michigan’s Sierra Romero and Jennifer Brundage are among the final eight at second base and third base, respectively, in “ESPN’s Greatest All-Time Softball Team.”
ESPN is using the time it would have spent showing the Women’s College World Series to put together a team of the sport’s all-time greats. Starting Tuesday, the network’s softball-centric podcast, “7Innings,” will break down the finalists, position-by-position on a daily basis, with fans getting to vote for three days afterward.
