Michigan softball has won yet another Big Ten championship.
The No. 2-ranked Wolverines routed Rutgers 11-1 in five innings today at Alumni Field in Ann Arbor to clinch their ninth consecutive conference title. U-M improves to 43-4 on the season, including 20-2 in Big Ten play.
That makes 19 of the past 22 Big Ten regular-season championships for U-M, which has won a share of the Big Ten title every year since 2008.
U-M scored six of its 11 runs in the fourth inning, buoyed by Sierra Romero and Faith Canfield home runs. Sara Driesenga improved to 20-0, striking out six and giving up just three hits and a walk.
