DETROIT -- Having started at age five in the driveway with his father, the special basketball journey for Isaiah Livers began. Now, over a dozen years later, Livers is a standout forward for the Kalamazoo Central with a future in basketball still ahead of him at the University of Michigan.
On Monday afternoon at the Detroit Free Press offices, Livers added another highlight to his basketball journey by being named the Hal Schram Mr. Basketball award winner by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan.
Livers beat out five other finalists, including Michigan State signee and runner-up Xavier Tillman of Grand Rapids Christian.
