The Wolverines not only ended their two-game losing streak on Saturday afternoon, but perhaps more significantly added a strong resume point, knocking off a quality Purdue team. Michigan trailed for most of the game, falling behind by as many as 10 points in the first half, but stuck around and grabbed the lead with just over a minute remaining, ultimately claiming a 61-56 victory.
“To have for our team win in a gritty not pretty performance is big for our growth,” said Michigan head coach John Beilein. “I think we grew up a lot today as a team, knowing that games are going to be tough and you’re going to have to be tougher.
