Michigan entered Saturday's game against SMU without its top running back and left the game with its second running back limping off the field.
Senior co-captain Karan Higdon dressed and went through warmups Saturday prior to the team's 45-20 win over the Mustangs at Michigan Stadium, but did not play after suffering an undisclosed injury earlier in the week.
In his place, Michigan heavily featured junior Chris Evans — who limped off the field after a 35-yard run in the fourth quarter. Evans finished the game with 18 carries for 85 yards.
Asked afterward what the status was of both players for next week against Nebraska, Jim Harbaugh was unsure.
